Ramah Programs in Israel: Seminar 2006

Independent Study Program: Internet Assignment

Knesset Medinat Yisrael: Understanding Israeli Democracy

Ramah Programs in Israel is delighted to bring you an innovative internet assignment, especially designed for Seminar participants who want to do an Independent Study Project.

The assignment is known as a Web Quest. It sends you to a number of websites on a quest for information which you can then use to answer questions that we will give you. Our Web Quest looks at the subject of the Israeli political system, centered around the Knesset. You will explore the different branches of the political system, and compare them to the model of the USA. Then you will be able to analyse and evaluate different elements of the system, including some of the most important parties. By the time you come to Israel you will already be ba'inyanim (in the know).

The assignment consists of the following elements:

Some of you will be doing this assignment as part of your Independent Study Program (the assignment is worth 1 credit in this framework). Others will be doing this out of general interest, and a wish to be better prepared before you visit Israel this coming summer.

Whatever your reason for doing this assignment, we wish you lots of hatzlacha (luck) and much enjoyment.
If you have comments on or problems with this assignment please write to us and let us know.

Click to the start of the assignment.

In order to send the assignment you should copy the questions into an email file, and fill them in as you search for the answers on the internet. When you have finished send this email to seminar@ramah.org.il. Please make sure that the subject line of the email is marked "Seminar 2006-ISP" and that your name and email address appears clearly in the document. Make sure that you keep a copy of the email, for your own records.

Enjoy and Lehitraot Ba'Aretz!
