Rabbis & Educators

For 60 years Ramah Programs in Israel has been implementing first-rate, educational Israel experiences.  You certainly know about the Ramah Israel Seminar – begun in 1962 and still our flagship program; however, we would like to make you aware of the array of additional Israel trips and programs that can serve you, as a Jewish professional, as well as your congregants and students.
We are pleased to launch our new website that outlines all of our programs. Please take a few moments to surf through it to familiarize yourself with the various possibilities. Following is a brief overview of our different departments, with corresponding links.

Plan and Lead an Israel trip for adults, families or teens in partnership with the Ramah Israel Institute: short-term (9-14 days or more) Israel trips tailor-made to the goals and needs of your synagogue or school:

  • Life-changing, educational Family Israel Experiences (groups of families led by one or more of the clergy/senior staff) and Adult Study-Tours (appropriate for laymen, study groups, synagogue or school staff, etc.). Possible add-ons toPoland,Prague orSpain
  • Two-week “Mini-Mester” educational tours for Bar/Bat mitzvah-age, Hebrew high or confirmation classes (students spend more than a whole year of weekly classes in the context of one trip!)
  • 8th Grade Day School Class Trips (over 20 schools send their children on class trips toIsrael through RII on a regular basis)

High School Programs (winter-spring):
Look for one or more motivated high school students in your congregation or school who would benefit from 2 or 4 months in an academic program in Israel:

  • Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim(TRY) a four-month semester for 10th-12th  graders, beginning in February. Israel and Jewish studies are fully integrated with field trips. Students study all required secular subjects as well.
  • USY HIGH:  Similar to TRY, USY HIGH is a two-month program (February-March) designed for high school juniors and seniors.

Both programs are fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges.

Ramah Israel Seminar: The “Jewel in the Crown” of Ramah Israel programs; a six-week program for high school students who have attended the Ramah camps. Optional 8-day pre-Seminar trip to Poland.

Ramah Jerusalem Day Camp: Families spending the summer inJerusalem can send their children (age 5-14) to English-speaking day camp for one to four weeks. (Sessions in the month of July)
