Ramah's Philosophy of Israel Education The intensity of a ten to twelve day trip to Israel during a school vacation opens up many possibilities. At Ramah, we build our trips to achieve a balance of intellectual, religious, social, emotional, and physical experiences. Students are exposed to a carefully chosen combination of sites and activities, designed especially for high school students. We want the students to look back on their time in Israel as one of emotional, intellectual and religious growth and to feel a sense of pride in meeting the physical challenges put before them. Ultimately we hope that the trip will connect them in a very positive way with their Judaism and whet their appetites for continued Jewish education.

Time and again we hear students saying that as a result of the experience in Israel they understand the Jewish education they have received in much more meaningful terms, and this results in their desire to learn still more.
Rabbi Steve Lindemann, Temple Beth Sholom, Cherry Hill, NJ.On the trip, we were the sculptors with the task of creating our own lifelong memory with the 'clay' of many special experiences. Israel is no longer just a name on a map or a headline or a textbook. It's real now...
Dan Brown, Grade 10, Temple Beth Sholom, Cherry Hill, NJ.This trip had a huge impact on my life. I've never felt such pride in my life, the time we davened at the Kotel on Friday night. It was the greatest experience of my Jewish life. (10th Grade participant)
This was the most fun I ever had in my entire life, and as of now I don't think anything can even come close. I feel much better about myself, my Judaism and my friends. (10th grade participant)Thank you for everything you did to make the Confirmation Class trip such a profound, exciting and unforgettable experience, as much a spiritual passage as our son's Bar Mitzvah three years ago. In his own words, he came back "a changed man".
